This course is the first part of a graduate level sequence in topology We will mainly deal with fundamental groups and homology If time allows, we will cover basics of cohomology theory as well This will roughly cover Chapters 0-2 of Hatcher's textbook Algebraic Topology as well as Section 3.1 A little bit knowledge on point-set topology (Ma 109A) and group theory (Ma 005A) will be assumed.

No collaboration allowed.
Grade policies are as follows: 40% homework, 30% midterm and 30% final exam. Collaboration is not allowed.
