Course Description

In Math 5a we will focus on group theory. This is roughly chapters 1-6 from the textbook. Sometimes additional material will be covered, and often it will be presented from a different perspective.

Policies

Grading: 40% homework, 30% midterm, 30% final.

It is OK to discuss homework questions together, however the solution has to be written up individually and everyone must use their own words. Homework must be handed in on or before the deadline, unless there are exceptional individual circumstances.
